What I've Learned

I grew up a "Drug" addict. Not in that way, but in a good way. My dad is a minister & I was "drug" to church everyday. Monday singles meeting. Tuesday ladies meeting. Wednesday young peoples meeting. Thursday old people meeting. Friday volunteer meeting. Saturday bible school meeting. Sunday EVERYBODY meeting.

It baffles me when people say they have haters. I don't have haters because I don't attract hate.

The HBCU (Historically Black College and University) experience taught me how to be patient. I had to wait 6 days to get registered every semester. We didn't have an online registration system like most traditional colleges. Shout out to Grambling State University.

Growing up
I never knew how to ride a bike. All I wanted to do was play sports. Did it so well I played baseball and golf on a college scholarship. I still don't know how to ride I bike.

My parents taught me to "Always take my home training with me". They've been married 48 years. My dad says, "When you get married, never stop dating each other".

Women No comment.

Working out for me is therapy. Some people drink, smoke, shop, eat and not eat when they are stressed. I charge up the IPOD and take my talents (Lebron James voice) to the gym and sweat my thoughts out.

I wish I had a better relationship with my brothers. I am the baby out of 5 (2 brothers and 2 sisters) and I'm honestly closer to my big sister more than all of my siblings.

I never learned about the economy until my job laid me off. I was replaced by an intern. Worst part about that experience, I was 2 days away from a doctors appointment.

Money is not important to me. I just want to have enough to buy what I want and not let it affect the way I live my life.

I don't have a big ego. I just have high self-esteem.

I never appreciated having money in my bank account until I didn't have money in my bank account.

Being bald was a humbling feeling at first. I was 27 years old. Everybody has good hair in my family. But the feeling of a woman rubbing a bald head is PRICELESS.

I'm a huge fan of the barter system.

Too many people say positive quotes, but never act upon them.

Love is given. Trust, my friend, that's EARNED.

My first name brand clothing item was from the Thrift Store. I shop their religiously now.

Hustle is the relentless pursuit of working tirelessly long non-traditional hours resulting in the everyday money-making decisions that involves unimaginable faith that at the end of the day you have performed beyond what is expected while having the ability to live the life want to live.

When you think you are not important, try not paying a bill. I guarantee you will get a phone call or letter in the mail from someone.

I studied Mass Communication in undergrad and Sports Administration in graduate school because I wanted to be a sports broadcaster. Retired athletes took all the jobs. To this day, I still can't understand a word Charles Barkley says.

No matter how big or small, one of the greatest feelings someone can have is accomplishing a goal.

I don't like to self-promote myself. It's just a part of my hustle.

God
blessed me with many talents. The one I am most thankful for is the gift of gab.

The more successful you are, the more people re-appear back in your life.

Teachers will probably never get the credit they deserve. If parents don't insert discipline in their child's life how do you expect a teacher too?

Rappers are authors. They just tell their story in a different way.

Random I wish I could talk all the time in Prince singing voice.

I always try to touch base with my friends. When they only reach out to me when they need something I come to terms with the fact they are just associates.
